Marketing and Social Media Coordinator

 Summary Statement:

We are seeking a Marketing and Social Media Coordinator who will work with the marketing team. This position produces compelling, audience-focused content that effectively positions, differentiates, and promotes products and services utilizing social media and the Internet

Responsibilities:

  • Be seen as a leader by staying ahead of trends in interactive marketing, emerging media, and communications.
  • Work with Chief Marketing Officer to set goals, objectives, and individual development milestones and pushing to constantly learn.
  • Monitor/listen to online conversations within the social web about our company, the brand, products and services, as well as competition, and then reporting key insights and recommendations.
  • Research interactive marketing and emerging media trends and pull specific, relevant stats and insights in support of strategic business cases.
  • Brainstorm viable strategic interactive marketing solutions that integrate and/or influence our marketing strategy and bring brand relevance in the online space.
  • Consult with internal stakeholders by sharing your interactive marketing thought leadership to help inform and support our operating departments.
  • Help to uncover interactive marketing opportunities
  • Support the selection and partnering with 3rd party vendors having specific specialized expertise in support of strategy execution.
  • Help ensure each stage within a given project’s execution stays on strategy.

 Knowledge and Skills:

The successful candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to write compelling, strong, audience-targeted, engaging copy; excellent proofreading and editing skills; superior project and time management skills; strong analytical skills and be detail oriented; experience in developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns; strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate complicated ideas clearly; understanding of layout design and working knowledge of professional publishing and presentation software; experience with Web-based media including social networking tools, blogs, e-mail, and forums; ability to work well under pressure and thrive in a fast-pace environment

 Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Information Technology
  • Minimum of 4 years work experience in digital media, social media, or interactive marketing
  • Experience in advertising, PR and online marketing
  • Actively attends interactive marketing events
  • Actively immersed in social media (active blogger, micro-blogger, and/or commenter on blogs, on twitter, etc)
  • Demonstrable passion for active learning (podcasts, RSS feeds, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to produce online newsletters
  • Experience in website management and enhancements

 Other Characteristics:

Must be professional in appearance and conduct.  This individual will be driven to help grow the company and its profitability.  Capability and willingness to be able to perform all marketing functions with detailed handling and accuracy.   While not anticipated to be significant, candidate must be willing to travel if necessary.
