Natural Disaster Response

Critical Power Systems / Emergency Fuel Services

Sprint Western Region

1991-Present

Summary:

Since 1991, OCCU-TEC has maintained a Master Services Agreement with Sprint to provide comprehensive consulting services including energy systems assistance, asbestos training, building surveys, as well as preparing Operations and Maintenance plans, and risk assessments for over 600 facilities within the Western Operations Group.  OCCU-TEC has completed over 230 inspections in the North Central Region.  OCCU-TEC has also developed the response plans, which included abatement of confirmed asbestos containing materials (ACM) and specifications and provided third-party air monitoring, construction inspection assistance, and laboratory analysis for over 60 facilities during this time.

Disaster Response-Fuel Delivery Services

Following Hurricane's Katrina and Rita in 2005, and Gustav and Ike in 2008 OCCU-TEC coordinated and delivered critically needed fuel to the storm damaged areas of Sprint service.  Emergency fueling services, and emergency generator maintenance and repair services were successfully provided, allowing Sprint to minimize customer interruptions during the initial hurricane response.
