ASBESTOS OCCUPATIONS TRAINING + Asbestos Awareness Training ASBESTOS AWARENESS This course meets the AHERA and OSHA requirements for custodial, maintenance and other employees who work in facilities that contain asbestos. Topics covered include: * Health effects of asbestos * Worker protection * Recognition of ACM * and more.   Class Time 2-Hours Upcoming Classes: July August September October             ASBESTOS OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE This class is for employees who have the possibility of coming into contact with asbestos-containing materials (ACM) that may be accidentally disturbed. It provides participants with practices for maintaining asbestos-containing material in good condition, ensuring cleanup of previously released asbestos fibers and minimizing exposure to building occupants. Training covers developing an operations and maintenance (O&M) program, implementing and managing the program, and securing O&M controls. Class Time 8-Hours Upcoming Classes: July August September October   18 (R) 22 (R)   $145 per student (R) Classes are approved by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Air Pollution Control Program, and the U.S. EPA     HAZARDOUS MATERIALS / HAZWOPER + 8-Hour HAZWOPER Supervisor Training OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910.120(e)(4) require that on-site management and supervisors directly responsible for, or who supervise employees engaged in, hazardous waste operations, receive at least eight additional hours of specialized training at the time of job assignment on such topics as, but not limited to, the employer’s safety and health program and the associated employee training program, personal protective equipment program, spill containment program, and health hazard monitoring procedure and techniques. This course is designed by professionals to educate the supervisor in safety management, not just enable them to pass a test. Topics covered include risk assessment, working in confined spaces and developing an emergency response plan. This course will also feature the fundamentals of establishing and maintaining an in-house response team. Topics covered Purpose of OSHA and its role in regulating occupational safety Site Characterization to establish problems that may exist in your workplace and measures that can be implemented to eliminate hazards Identification of hazardous materials in the workplace and the possible methods, symptoms and preventative measures of exposure Use of Material Safety Data sheets (MSDS) to identify and properly handle hazardous materials Flammable, explosive, chemical or radiological hazards Personal protective equipment in limiting hazardous exposure Site Control Program to limit the risk of exposure to only those working in the hazardous work zone Medical treatment of workers in the event of hazardous exposure   Class Time 24-Hours Upcoming Classes: July August September October         OCCU-TEC also has an online option for this course.   + 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training HAZWOPER 40 Hour is required for employees working on a project consisting of Uncontrolled Hazardous Waste Operation mandated by the Government. This course is specifically designed for workers who are involved in clean-up operations, voluntary clean-up operations, emergency response operations, and storage, disposal, or treatment of hazardous substances or uncontrolled hazardous waste sites. Topics include protection against hazardous chemicals, elimination of hazardous chemicals, safety of workers and the environment and OSHA regulations. This course covers topics included in 29 CFR 1910.120. Workers must also have 40 hrs of initial training before they may enter the site and at least three days of actual field experience under a trained, seasoned supervisor. The three days field experience under a trained, experienced supervisor is the responsibility of the student employer or potential employer. This course is designed for general site workers who remove hazardous waste or who are exposed or potentially exposed to hazardous substances or health hazards. Topics include HAZWOPER regulations Safety and health plans Hazardous chemicals Safety hazards Air monitoring Medical surveillance Site control, and decontamination Personal protective equipment, and respiratory equipment Class Time 8-Hours Upcoming Classes: July August September October   13     OCCU-TEC also has an online option for this course.     OSHA OUTREACH TRAINING + 10-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training This course is designed for construction workers, foremen, job supervisors and anyone involved in the construction industry.  OSHA recommends the 10 Hour construction outreach training program as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers covered by OSHA 29 CFR 1926. Workers must receive additional training, when required by OSHA standards, on the specific hazards of the job.  Students will receive a Department of Labor card upon completion of this class. Class Time 10-Hours Upcoming Classes: July August September October 23 19       OCCU-TEC also has an online option for this course.   + 10-Hour OSHA General Industry Safety Training This course is ideal for supervisors with safety and health responsibilities, and for employee safety and health awareness.  Students will be introduced to OSHA policies, procedures and standards as well as general industry safety and health principles covered in OSHA Act Part 1910.  Special emphasis will be placed on areas most hazardous using OSHA standards as a guide.  Students will receive a Department of Labor OSHA OTI card upon completion of this class. Class Time 10-Hours Upcoming Classes: July August September October         OCCU-TEC also has an online option for this course.   + 30-Hour OSHA Construction and General Indsutry Safety Training The 30-hour outreach training course provides complete information on OSHA compliance issues.  OSHA recommends the 30-hour outreach training programs as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers covered by OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 29 CFR 1926. Workers must receive additional training, when required by OSHA standards, on specific hazards of the job.  Students will receive a Department of Labor OSHA OTI card upon completion of this course. Class Time 30-Hours Upcoming Classes: July August September October         OCCU-TEC also has an online option for this course.   + 16-Hour OSHA Site Disaster Worker Safety Training The Disaster Site Worker Training Program is for Disaster Site Workers who provide skilled support services, (e.g. utility, demolition, debris removal, or heavy equipment operation) or site clean-up services in response to natural and man-made disasters.   Specifically, it is recognized that all workers at disaster sites need to be aware of the differences between disaster sites and regular construction or demolition worksites, and be able to inspect, don and doff air-purifying respirators.  Also, the program will make management and labor aware that pre-incident training is essential for ensuring disaster site worker safety and health. Students who attend this course are first required to attend the OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety or the OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety training course to insure that the employee has the perquisite skills and knowledge required to understand the materials presented in this advanced course.   Students must either take the course with OCCU-TEC or provide proof of successful completion (providing a copy of a current certification is satisfactory) before they can attend this course. Student will learn: Intent and interpretation of the Code. Key provisions impacting your facility. Navigation skills for the Code book. Saving money by observing the Code. Changes since the '97 Code. Measure travel distance. Calculate occupant load and egress capacity. Analyze code compliance. Tab Content + Confined Space Entrant / Attentant / Supervisor Training Permit Required Confined Spaces is also one of the standards on OSHA’s "most wanted" list. This seminar explores safety precautions employees and supervisors should take when working in confined spaces. Students will learn how OSHA defines a confined space, in addition to completing entry permits, summoning emergency services, cataloging equipment that can be used in confined spaces and more. Students will learn what machinery must be locked and tagged, how to control energy sources, the proper procedures for restoring power and more. Training as described throughout this outline will be designed to: Establish a long-term/self perpetuating strategic training system that defines a commitment to safety. Develop a common language and transferable skills that support mobility of staff and synergy between Corporate Divisions. Methodically build a network of Corporate Safety Professionals. Build self-esteem, skill base, and commitment among Safety Professionals. Position the Sponsoring Organization as a proactive provider of safety training that includes federally recognized curriculum that prepares for any potential future mandates. Utilize Industry Trainers (OCCU-TEC Inc.) that will ensure current, state-of-the-art, technical safety training. Be flexible in curriculum design to include specific emphasis (or complete courses) on areas of greatest loss experience or concern. Be portable with training locations (anywhere, anytime). Provide a process for Certificate recognition, progress reports and record retention.   Core Basic Safety Training: During the first year OCCU-TEC Inc. will provide a Core Basic Safety Training Course at selected corporate locations. The course will be designed to begin with an OSHA 10-hr General Industry class that need not be attended by those having previously completed that training, yet want to attend the additional three-plus days of safety topics.   At least 24 additional hours of classroom instruction, hands on exercises, and case studies will complete the core five days of safety training. Subjects to be covered will include, but are not limited to: Safety as an Integrated Part of Management & Supervision Basic Concepts of Safety & Health Effective Safety Committees Occupational Accident Investigation Conducting & Responding to Safety Inspections & Audits Fire Safety – Planning, Protection and Response Refresher/Enhancement Courses and Elective Safety Courses: OCCU-TEC Inc. will provide two-day (16-hour) Safety Refresher courses to enhance the initial Core Basic Safety Training. OCCU-TEC Inc. will review the Sponsoring Organizations Safety Program, individual accident and injury records as well as specific recommendations for key areas of concern. Our trainers will then tailor their presentations to emphasize safety issues, work activities or job hazards particularly significant to the Company. OCCU-TEC Inc. will also provide additional one-day (8-hour) elective safety seminars on specific topics as may be requested by the Sponsoring Organization.
