KANSAS CITY, Mo. August 12, 2025 – Environmental services firm OCCU-TEC, Inc. has been named to the 2025 Inc. 5000 list of fast-growing private companies in America. OCCU-TEC ranks No. 3,084, ranking 1,740 places higher than it did in 2024. The list provides a data-driven snapshot of the most successful companies within the economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent, entrepreneurial businesses.
“Our growth over the past decade is a result of our team’s commitment to working alongside our customers to find the best solutions for their unique needs,” says Skuli Gudmundsson, president and CEO of OCCU-TEC, Inc. “Our customers are facing new challenges each year with changing regulations and a strained workforce. We are proud to provide an essential service that helps them ensure compliance and workplace safety while limiting downtime and preparing their team for the future.”
OCCU-TEC is no newcomer to Inc.’s rankings of fastest growing private companies. The organization has been listed on the Inc. Regionals Midwest in 2021, 2024 and 2025, earning the top spot on the 2025 regionals in the environmental services business category. OCCU-TEC has also made appearances on the Inc. 5000 list in 2019, 2020, 2024 and now 2025, making this the seventh time in seven years that the company has been recognized by Inc. for its growth.
The business's recent growth has been fueled by its Managed Environmental, Safety and Health (MESH) services. The program provides organizations with the expertise and support they need to address immediate and long-term environmental, safety and health challenges.
“Our new MESH program fills a gap in the market for companies who are already running their own environmental and workplace safety programming but need some extra support to ensure regulatory compliance, foster a positive safety culture, lower operational costs, and ultimately achieve self-sufficiency,” said Gudmundsson.
Companies honored on this year’s Inc. 5000 have demonstrated exceptional growth while navigating economic uncertainty, inflationary pressure and a fluctuating labor market. Among the top 500 companies on the list, the median three-year revenue growth rate reached 1,507 percent, and those companies contributed more than 52,805 jobs to the U.S. economy over the past three years.
“Making the Inc. 5000 is always a remarkable achievement, but earning a spot this year speaks volumes about a company’s tenacity and clarity of vision,” says Mike Hofman, editor-in-chief of Inc. “These businesses have thrived amid rising costs, shifting global dynamics, and constant change. They didn’t just weather the storm—they grew through it, and their stories are a powerful reminder that the entrepreneurial spirit is the engine of the U.S. economy.”
