Drinking Water Contaminant Testing

Water Sampling | Lead & Copper Testing

With a 40-year history of helping school districts and childcare facilities assess and improve their water quality, OCCU-TEC's lead and copper testing program can help you navigate regulations and ensure your water quality meets state and federal requirements.

Missouri Senate Bill 681 & 662, "Drinking Water in Schools" established that schools must provide drinking water with a lead concentration below five parts per billion (ppb). Before January 1, 2024, every school must have a plan to test each water outlet used for drinking, cooking, or cleaning utensils. Testing is required before August 1, 2024, and if any fixture tests above 5 ppb, corrective action is required.

To help meet these regulations, the state has set aside $27 million to partially— and potentially fully—reimburse school districts for the costs of sampling and remediation efforts.

OCCU-TEC has the knowledge, experience and expertise to help school districts and childcare facilities with this testing. See our work with Kansas City Public Schools and the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA):
